Detailed description of Golf At The Legacy
The Legacy in Faribault, Minnesota is a 6,500-yard, 18-hole Championship facility with a course rating of 71.3 - slope 134. The golf course was designed golf architect Garret Gill and opened for play in 1998.The Legacy is a public course which offers yearly memberships, corporate outings, competitive tournaments, leagues, Jr. golf programs, lesson programs, practice facilities, PGA Professional, pro-shop, golf cart rental, club rental, and a snack bar. The golf course as described in the 1998 Minnesota Golfer Magazine has three kinds of holes. The center of the course is slightly hilly, with classic tree lined fairways. To the North, rolling topography is punctuated with prairie grasses, creating Scottish style links. And in the South, there are beautiful vistas with the internationally known college prep school Shattuck - St. Mary's in the background.

Water on 11 holes. Trees in just the right places. Sand traps are placed so as to make shot placement a premium. The greens are fast and have a lotta break. This course is walkable with only one long walk between holes 4 and 5. Faribault is a small town. The staff are very, very helpful. Discounts are available season long making it an extra value. Membership costs are very low.
